      Summary of Representative obligationA data intermediation service provider or data altruism organisations which has no establishment in the EU is required to appoint a Legal Representative in the EU (Articles 11, 19)

      Which organisations require a Representative?All data intermediation service providers or data altruism organisations which have no establishment in the EU are required to appoint a Legal Representative in the EU (no exclusions)
      Where should the Representative be established?The Legal Representative should be established in one of the EU member states where the organisation offers its service(s)
      Summary obligations placed on the Representative

      • Receive communications from EU competent authorities on behalf of their clients, regarding all issues related to their service

      • On their request, comprehensively demonstrate to the competent authorities the actions taken and provisions put in place by their clients to comply with the DGA

        Other relevant Representative aspects The details of the Representative must be notified to the competent authority in the EU member state where the Legal Representative is established
